Regal 32 Bowrider

Overview
As a design engineer at Regal Boats, I contributed to the development of the Regal 32 Bowrider (also known as the 3200 Bowrider, introduced around 2013–2016, with the line evolving into the current 3300 Bowrider), an ultra high-end bowrider engineered as a pioneering “day yacht” capable of excelling in demanding, big-water conditions such as those on Lake of the Ozarks—characterized by large waves, heavy chop, wakes from traffic, and high-speed operation. Collaborating with naval architects, the project started from the ground up to design a custom hull optimized for the smoothest, driest, and most comfortable high-speed ride in rough waters while maximizing open-air entertainment space for up to 18 guests. This model blended yacht-like luxury amenities, expansive social layouts, and exceptional performance in a bowrider platform, targeting discerning boaters seeking versatility for day cruising, watersports, entertaining large groups, and confident handling on challenging inland lakes.
Contribution
I played a key role in the design and development of the Regal 32 Bowrider. This included creating detailed profile and plan view renderings to visualize the sleek European exterior styling, spacious open layout, bow and cockpit arrangements, and integration of premium features. Working closely with naval architects, I helped refine the hull and overall form for optimal big-water performance. I developed the final 3D tooling model for all fiberglass components (hull, deck, consoles, seat bases, accents, and structural elements), ensuring precise fit, structural integrity, seamless transitions, and production readiness. My work focused on balancing aesthetic elegance with functional excellence to support Regal’s standards for quality, innovation, and high-end appeal in this groundbreaking day-yacht bowrider.

Outcome
The Regal 32/3200 Bowrider project successfully pioneered the “day yachting” category for large bowriders, earning acclaim for its exceptional big-water handling, smooth ride in rough conditions, luxurious open layout, and ability to entertain large groups comfortably—making it particularly well-suited to challenging venues like Lake of the Ozarks. It strengthened Regal’s reputation for innovative, high-performance designs that combine sporty capability with yacht-level refinement, appealing to owners seeking premium experiences without full cruiser size. This work highlights my expertise in collaborative high-performance marine design, ground-up hull development with naval architects, advanced 3D tooling for fiberglass production, and delivering boats that excel in real-world demanding environments while achieving strong market impact and brand elevation.
